The revelation of God in the seven gates / mountains

From the Desk of the National Chairman March 2018

Shalom Gatekeepers

Over the past week, I have been meditating on the several different names given to our Lord, for example, how Abraham, after receiving a ram from the Lord to offer as a sacrifice, named the place Jehovah Jireh, the Lord who provides (Genesis 22:14). And how the Lord said to the Israelites that He is the Lord who heals you (Exodus 15:26). These names and others reveal the many specific characters of the Lord, and He has progressively revealed Himself to us over the ages.

I then began to wonder what other characters He may reveal to us that could be specific to each of the seven gates or mountains or spheres of influence. I believe this to be important as we, having been created in His image and likeness, also need to display these characters as His Kingdom Ambassadors in the world today, to bring about transformation into the cultures of nations.

I share some of my meditations on three of these gates, the Family Gate, Government Gate and Business Gate, as they are the ones I am most familiar with.

The first scripture that impacted me about the Family Gate is Genesis 4:1 (NLT), the first verse in the bible that tells us of God’s role in families: “Now Adam had sexual relations with his wife, Eve, and she became pregnant. When she gave birth to Cain, she said, “With the Lord’s help, I have produced a man!”. Families need help and the Lord loves to help with families. In addition, there are several other scriptures relating to God and families, especially those that reveal God as our Father in heaven, Jesus as His Son and the Holy Spirit as our helper. Such relationships encourage us to have similar spiritual relationships with others in the Kingdom of God. Having spiritual fathers brings about great blessings in our spiritual growth and journey.

For the Government Gate, Isaiah 33:22 provides an insight into the structure of kingdom governance and how the Lord reveals Himself to us: “For the Lord is our Judge, The Lord is our Lawgiver, The Lord is our King; He will save us “. This scripture reveals to us the three main branches of a kingdom government, justice, legislation and the executive. What is of significance to me as a government employee, is how He functions as the lawgiver under the new covenant: Jeremiah 31:33 “But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put My law in their minds, and write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people”. I believe one of the purpose of the five-fold ministry is to work with Him in putting His laws in our minds and writing it on our hearts.

With regards to the Business Gate, the main purpose of which is to create and distribute wealth, with science currently being the main driver of research, product development and provision of services, I believe the Lord reveals Himself in this sphere as the Creator, working with us as co-creators to produce useful and innovative products, and as the Provider, especially of ideas and service.

This is only a start. The Lord reveals Himself to us in many different ways in each of the Gates. I could go on. But what I would like to do instead is to invite you, especially those involved in the Arts/Entertainment/Sport Gate, Church and Religion Gate, Distribution/Media/Communications Gate and the Education Gate to share your testimonies in this Newsletter of how God has revealed Himself to you in these spheres. Such testimonies of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy (Revelation 19:10) that can impact on the lives of many seeking to find their purpose in life.

With every blessing to all,

George
