Lord Jesus Christ’s command to every disciple is “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations” Matthew 28:19.
In 1951 Demos Shakarian, an Armenian American dairy farmer established the Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship International (FGBMFI) – a fellowship of laymen who “will tell other men about Jesus. They will tell what they have actually experienced of God to other men like themselves, men who will not believe what a preacher said but will listen to a plumber, dentist or salesman because they are one themselves.”
In 1952 God showed Demos a vision of untold masses of men and women from every continent, nation and culture once spiritually dead, now alive. Delivered and set free, they are filled with the power and presence of the Holy Spirit, faces radiant with the glory of God, hands raised and lifting praises to God.
Many years later, Demos wrote: “A new wave of revival is about to explode within the body of Christ… God has shown me a world set free.”
The Vision is not yet complete. The vision intensifies. The FGBA believes that God is bringing the kingdoms of the world under the righteous rulership of His Son, Jesus Christ. The bible says: “Then the seventh angel sounded: And there were loud voices in heaven, saying, “The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!” Revelations 11:15.
Imagine what Australia, or even indeed the whole world, would look like with Jesus Christ reigning and ruling in our nation. It is going to happen and the bible confirms this.
God is seeking men and women to empower and use to bring about transformation in our personal lives, in the marketplaces, communities and nations.
God is calling us to be His Partners working together as a body of believers (Philippians 1:1). Some as His gatekeepers to prevail over the spiritual gates – “So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found no one.” Ezekiel 22:30.
And others as His Ministers to preach the Gospel of the kingdom through sharing their testimony – “For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy”. Revelation 19:10.
